Last night we had some pretty good rainstorms here in Branson, and they are expecting more heavy rains tonight and tomorrow. We have also heard a lot of thunder today. We had a decent breakfast this morning (no comparison to yesterday!). We need to start watching our food intake or Karen and I will have to take turns running along side the car as we travel.
About noon we drove into the downtown Branson to an area known as Branson Landing. This is a newly opened hotel, shopping, and restaurant area on Lake Taneycomo. Here are a few photos...
As we walked into this common area we heard the last of a recording of the Star Spangled Banner. There was a mini-Bellagio water attraction that featured the merging of water, fire, light and music right at the edge of the lake.

After walking around the shops we headed to Branson's Best Decade Show. A 60's show featuring songs from...(drum roll) the 1960's. It was very entertaining. There were only about 100 people in a theatre built to hold about 700, but we made it sound like the place was full. The cast was wonderful and really got the place rocking. Here are a few photos...

The show lasted two hours and we could have clamored for more,
but our tummies were growling, so we headed back to the Landing...

The meats were good; there were five different BBQ sauces.
The vegey's tasted like they had sat in warm water all afternoon.
I'll give them a B- for the meal.
Ha! Now I am a food critic in addition to being a travel reporter!!
We went back to the hotel, read, watched TV, and blogged.
